Shots of the SMITE Season 10 map variation used for "Season of Celebration"
We wanted the map to feel bright and vibrant but in ways that were distinct from the Season of Hope map. We leaned into an autumnal vibe with lots of bright warm foliage colors and supported that with additional pops of color via plants, painted designs, brightly painted masks and potion bottles. We did our best to emulate some aspects of Maman Brigitte a god who was releasing alongside the map. In particular her focus on "potions" and the inclusion of a weeping willow, often associated with her, growing around the order side base.
I worked on several props for the map. I got to build the bright purple flowers used throughout one of the map quadrants. I also made texture masks that allowed by skeleton kit from Season of Souls, and some older bone mesh kits from previous maps to be covered in painted designs and sigils which we could then MIC to different colors and patterns depending on the area of the map they were uses. Lastly, alongside the rest of the team I got to design and model a mask loosely based on myself to include in the map which ultimately went on to be used for an aspect of gameplay we introduced for the season. I was also responsible for the weeping willow tree growing around Olympus in the Order base.
